This photograph was first published in Victor Record Review (1939), Vol. 2, No. 7, pp. 8-11, together with an article by Charles Edward Smith on the Jelly-Roll Morton’s New Orleans Jazzmen 1939 Bluebird sessions. [14] Smith later used it in 1945 for his booklet for Morton’s Victor album HJ-5.
