George W. Kay was one of the finest writers about jazz and ragtime musicians. Many of his sought-after articles about Jelly Roll Morton and Roy J. Carew have been published in the Jazz Journal and Second Line magazines. He was born in Springfield, Clarke County, Ohio on 22nd February 1910 and died in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida on 8th January 1988.
